Equipment
If you're just looking for a disc jockey or deejay to show up for a few hours with a box of CD's or an iPod and some speakers, then you should probably shop around for the least expensive DJ you can find because, honestly, it doesn't take much talent or experience to plug in some speakers and press play.
But professional wedding disc jockeys do so much more than that. A common mistake some brides make, is to treat the DJ as a product and not a service. It is most important to realize that your wedding DJ is a service provider and, as with any service, you often get just what you pay for!
Professional disc jockey gear is expensive because it's rugged and dependable. It's designed for heavy use and frequent transport. DJ's who have invested thousands of dollars in top-of-the-line professional equipment, charge more than DJ's with only hundreds of dollars worth of amateur or second hand equipment. Bargain DJ's often use equipment intended for home use or well worn equipment obtained from newspaper ads or pawn shops. Such low-end gear is often unattractive and subject to poor sound quality or even failure.
J & D Productions uses the best in the business. Peavey amplifiers and speakers, and a Behringer mixer deliver the great souind of J & D Productions.
